Truly Charming Places To See Before You Die: Český Krumlov

Read an article "19 Truly Charming Places To See Before You Die" that made me interested in exploring a small town Český Krumlov in Czech Republic.

Old Český Krumlov is a UNESCO World Heritage site which built in 13th century. Castle in Český is the second large castle in Czech followed by Prague one. However, The castle is closed in winter, so I didn't get in.

Everything in Czech is preserved very well while the countries like Germany and Poland were devastated in the Second World War, I believed it should be credited to the endurance of Czech people. They didn't flight against Germany and Soviet Union's invasion as they knew that they were impotent, even the velvet revolution was a peaceful revolution. That's why their culture and everything can be kept so well.

Český Krumlov 大家可能沒有聽過，但有機會聽過 CK小鎮。其實大部份人都不懂得這個簡寫，所以當我向別人查詢這個地方時，大家都一頭霧水，直至我 google map給他們看。

會到這個地方，是源於在買機票前一刻看到一篇文章，題目是 "19 Truly Charming Places To See Before You Die" "一輩子一定要去的19個絕美小鎮" ，而其中一個地方就是Český Krumlov。

Český Krumlov 古城於十三世紀建成，現在是世界文化遺產之一。舊城內的古堡是布拉格古堡後，捷克的第二大城堡，不過冬天是關閉的。

當德國，波蘭等地區被炸個稀巴爛，捷克的古老建築卻保護得這麼好全因為當地人民的忍耐，在二次大戰時期，德國入侵捷克，及後來蘇聯的統治，捷克人自知不夠力量去反抗，所以都採取接受的態度，所以流的血也不多。後來的天鵝絨革命也是沒有經過大規模的暴力衝突，主權就落回捷克人手上，所以舊有的文化就得以保存。

Things to do:

Highly recommended to get into the tower and see the landscape of the old town. The view is absolutely stunning, it's more beautiful than I think, quiet and peaceful. Although there was a tour from Korea which destroy the peaceful a bit, I did enjoy the calmness there as they just stayed a very short time.

• 要居高臨下，才能看得真整個舊城區的美麗面貌，所以到塔頂參觀是必須的。
• 當在塔頂的時候，我是十分驚訝的，風景比我相像中漂亮得多，古典而優雅。當時有一團韓國旅行團和我一同上塔頂，有一點破壞了塔上的寧靜，但他們逗留的時間很短，所以很快就回復寧靜，享受著一個人的時光。

• There is a museum next to the tower, you can buy the package tickets of the tower and museum in a slightly cheaper price. The museum demonstrate the previous life in Český, the exquisite home accessories shows how wealthy they were in the old days.

• 觀光塔旁是博物館，有介紹這個地方的歷史和從前人民的生活，可以看得出古時他們應該很富有。

There are more than just walking around the old Český, you can have the water sport, camping, riding horses (and hiking? I am not sure about hiking, I guess there is as I found a board there which has the photos of hiking on the board). Note that water sport and camping are only available in summer. 

On the way to Austria from Český is a beautiful and clean river, I guess it should be Vltava River and the campsites are along the river. Shuttle bus (car is more appropriate) tole me that the facilities of the campsites are quite good, with shower as well. Myriad of visitors from Austria and Prague will flock to Český to go camping.

If I visit again in summer, I will definitely jump into the river with the locals.

• 除了在舊城區遊覽之外，其實還有其他活動，可以騎馬﹑ 水上活動﹑ 露營 和行山?(行山是我在當地有一塊版，版上有一些行山的相片，所以我自己猜的) 
  水上活動和露營只是夏天才有，因為冬天實在太冷了。
  
  
  由奧地利到 Český Krumlov 沿途都是一條很美麗很清潔的河流，應該就是 Vltava River 伏爾塔瓦河，河流的一旁全都是樹圍著，而沿著河流旁都設置了一些 camp site。
  聽 shuttle 的司機先生說，夏天的時侯很多布拉格人和奧地利人來露營。聽說營地設施不錯，還有沖涼間。有機會的話，要在夏天重臨這裡，跟當地人一起跳進河裡。
